We put governed agents inside your infrastructure.
Varys DI is a fast-growing startup that provides enterprise AI and agentic solutions. It is co-founded by two friends who've known each other since long before either of them thought about starting a company. Collectively, they bring over 20 years of experience spanning digital transformation and enterprise technology across diverse industries, and deep technical expertise in product architecture, AI/ML, and large language models.
Where We Started
The first version of Varys was simpler than what it is today: an AI tool to chat with your data. It enabled business leaders to ask a question in plain English and get instant insights, skipping the wait for an analyst or a dashboard refresh.
It worked. It also taught us something we hadn't fully appreciated going in. For a large organization handling sensitive or regulated data, just getting an answer fast was not the hard part. The hard part was trust: who's allowed to ask, what they're allowed to see, where the data goes while it's processed, and whether every step holds up to a compliance officer.
That realization changed what we were building. Varys evolved from a conversational analytics tool into an enterprise agentic platform: a governed environment where AI agents reason over business data, connect to real enterprise systems, and get operational work done, entirely inside the customer's own environment. It's also where we're still headed, building toward a platform that lets enterprises move fast without giving up control.
What We Believe
We believe privacy and governance aren't features layered on top of enterprise AI. They're the difference between AI that gets adopted and AI that stays stuck in a pilot indefinitely. Almost every enterprise we've spoken with wants the capability. Very few are willing to hand a vendor unmonitored access to their data to get it. We built Varys around that reality.
We also believe the model was never going to be the differentiator. Frontier models are remarkable, and they're also becoming a commodity, available to every vendor, improving on a timeline none of us control. The organizations that get lasting value from AI won't be the ones with access to the best model. They'll be the ones who've built specific layers on top of it: a context and application layer that helps a model understand a specific business, connections into the systems where the real work happens. And a governance layer that lets an organization trust what the model does with all of it. These layers are where we spend most of our time.
